The HHOMM Basic v0.1 theme was made with WordPress2.9. The original design was configured for Safari, Firefox browsers in Mac environments and then tested in MS Explorer 6 & 7 browsers. The theme is optimized for Safari and Firefox, therefore some differences in visualization may appear when using MS Explorer browsers
For optimal use, configure as illustrated below.
1. Thumbnail functions
In WordPress 2.9 there is a filter function which enables the user to choose each post thumbnail. This filter function is also included in functions.php for further applications.
To configure thumbnail settings, first select the “Post Thumbnail” entry at the bottom of the right sidebar of the Posts/Edit menu. Then select ‘Set_thumbnail’ and choose the image file that will be used for the thumbnail. A window with configuration settings for the thumbnail will appear. Select Thumbnail(125×70) and ‘Use _as_thumbnail’. The configuration is complete.
The thumbnail size must be set to 125×70 and this can be done in ‘Setting/Media’. As shown in the following figure, Set the ‘Thumbnail size’ to width:125, height: 70 and select the checkbox right below the setting. The selected image from the media library will be trimmed to 125×70 which can now be used as a thumbnail. (The ‘Medium size’ and ‘Large size’ settings can be configured considering that the width of the post is 600px)
In HHOMM Basic v0.1, the thumbnail size is optimized at 125×70. Thumbnails can be viewed in category lists, search results and tag pages.
2. wp-cufon plugin
There are two plug-ins, fancy-box and wp-cufon, in the compressed file of HHOMM Basic v0.1. After installing and activating the plugin, a new entry “Cufon” will appear in the “Appearance’’ menu. User instructions can be found in the plugin directory of wordpress.org and examples are included in the config menu of the plugin.
Configure h1, h2, h3 as shown in the following image. H1 specifies the name of the site and category. H2 and h3 specifies the post title and category page name and page description. (cufon font will be described in detail later on)
